dslibris: 1.0 released

Finally, brightness control! Press Y to cycle through brightness levels on NDS Lites. Sorry, it won’t do anything on the Phat.

X still inverts colors.

Thanks to everyone who have sent in reports, problems, and commendations. It all helps.

Note that there are bug and feature request tracking lists on the Sourceforge project page; you can enter issues there.

ADDENDUM: some have had trouble with getting the font to load on startup. I’ve seen trouble too. I’ve released 1.0.2 to try to address this. NOTE, however, the locations of files will revert to the old ‘everything in the same directory’ scheme. Probably the root, but a subfolder might work! Sorry I can’t be more certain but I misplaced my DS! 🙁 Testing with other than an emulator is a little hard right now.

    I have 1.0 and y is the button that is

    letting me cycle through birghtness levels

    and it only lets me do that when I dont

    have my DS plugged in to the a charger. X just inverts the colors

    For some reason I can only have 7 books stored on my ds. If I have any more than 7, only the first 7 appear in the list. The rest are ignored.

    zodiac, that’s right, it’s a limitation because i can only display 7 books at once on one screen :O
    should make the list items thinner so at least more books can be displayed…

    Didn’t know about the charger behaviour. Wonder if that’s fixable.

    Looks like it has a lot of promise, but it doesn’t seem to work on my Supercard Lite; if you open a book (either the user manual or something else,) it displays “Repaginating…” and then goes to a screen that is entirely blank except for a “[1]” in the corner.

    Any ideas?

    excellent software. this has really improved and i’m really greatfull for all the hardwork you’ve done.

    where can we send beer money donations?

    a couple of suggestions if possible:

    + save setting of brightness and black/white so it’s the same when we reload

    + save the pagination info so it doesn’t need to be done each time a book is read

    + let us load .txt files

    + background mp3 player?

    haha Owen, not everybody gets the Guru reference! turns out that one of the homebrew tools developers put that into the toolkit so i couldn’t resist using it.

    i’ve resisted this since it will look shite in most cases. but i think i will give in at some point.

    outside my experience! i had first thought of attaching the reader to moonshell but didn’t see a good way to do it.

    Would it at all be possible to automate the process of converting to .xht somehow?

    As in, converting from all the various forms ebooks are found in straight to .xht. (.doc, .lit, .rtf, .txt, .lbr, .html, .pdf, .chm…)

    Any idea how this could be done?

    Hey, I really need some help converting this .txt file for the ds, whenever I try to read it on DSLibris, it gives me some kind of fatal error and a red screen with number, its Atlas Shrugged, I was wondering, is too big and thats the reason its not reading it?
